At Passion of the Motherland, I met photographer Karlton Chambers one of the most humble and kind persons, I have ever met in my life. While we were waiting for the curtains to open outside, Miss Harmony and another lovely young lady as well as myself had a mini photo-shoot with Karlton which was really fun. Passion of the Motherland: FREEDOM 

Last weekend, I had my first fashion show since winning Miss Congo. I was so please for this experience to be shared with no one other than the BEFTTA award winning catwalk coach Reuben P Joseph. Passion for the Motherland showcased the best in both African and Caribbean fashion. I got to wear some stunning pieces by designers Fee Uhssi and Erwin Michaelec as well as others, and my hair was done by the unbelievably creative Keisha Des Vignes. 

I met some lovely models, though determined to get their goal, they were very helpful in giving me advice on walking and more about the fashion industry from a models point of view. I learnt a lot about how it really is like back stage, it made me recognised and appreciate the amount of hard work that goes into putting on a successful fashion show.

I also got to share the catwalk with my inspiring big sister Miss Congo 2012 Sandrah G-e, like always she was giving me advice on the little things about the business that she is fully on her way in conquering.  

I absolutely loved every minute of the night; it was definitely a learning experience that would shape me into a better model if I ever chose to go down that path.

Samablux, Walk with us

The other night, I was at a Congolese event called ‘Walk with Us’, hosted by the CEO of SambaLux the beautiful Rachel. Night itself was soiree, with music, poetry and a dinner all to raise money to help people back home. I was granted with the greatest pleasure to perform my winning poem at the event, which I was incredibly please about, as well as that I also included in the fashion show.

   

                                         

              

Rachel had a team of beautiful and driven Congolese young ladies, who took very good care of me. The atmosphere was lush, very beautifully decorated, and the food was also great. I loved the reception I received after performing poem, which reminded why I did Miss Congo, and also why I won. I hope to carry on writing poetry about Congo, in order to both move and inspire people.

BEFFTA'S 2013

Being at the BEFFTA's 

Just being in the presence of such hard working individuals within the wider black community was defiantly an eye opening experience for me. When I got home, I felt so inspired, to be better, to work harder, to push further in order to be the best person I can, in my own personal life and as well as in my role as Miss Congo. 

However that is all easier said than done, drive is such easy thing loose, and dreams are easily created in a fantasy but in reality its a different thing all together. Then you have life, life could throw things at you that you had never expected, before you know it you are concentrating on things, people and situations that you had never pictured in your plan. This could then throw you off plan, set you back some steps; then you come to realise you are completely caught in all the things you have to do, instead of chasing what it is that you want to do. 

Faith and will are the power ingredients, that you need to get you where it is that you imagine yourself to be, as well as that there is also the touch of time, that needs to be taken into consideration. Nothing happens over night, the best of the best do not become the best over one night's rest. The key is not the give up, no matter how many cuts and bruises that endure along the way, just keep going. Because once you get there you will look back, say to yourself 'that wasn't so bad' and you would do it all again in heart beat without changing a thing. 

When people recognise the good you have done to better yourself, to better the world, you then become the inspiration, the faith, the will for others and that within itself is a great pleasure. 

But as well as that make sure that all you do is with a good heart. Those who do good out of the goodness of their heart go very far.

BEFFTA'S

I’ve always dreamt of attending an awards ceremony, being on the red carpet and sitting in the crowds watching people receive the awards that they have worked so hard for. The other night that dream of mine came true, as I got to attend one of the biggest nights of the year, the BEFFTA’s.

I attended both nights, the first night I did not have my partner in crime Miss Leonne with me, but I still had a good time as I spent the evening with Congo’s favourite Miss Cynthia Kams and the CEO of Boss Brother Productions. I wore a shimmery two tone split sequin maxi, and my hair and make-up was done by the beautiful, Miss O.  

The following night, words could not describe how happy I was to wear a Tina Lobondi satin fish tail dress, from her Biso Na Biso collection, as well as that I was finally join by my other half Miss Leonne (Miss Congo’s 1^st runners up) she wore a purple skater dress with diamanté collar.

 I also ran into the forever busy yet fabulously inspirational Sandrah G-e (Miss Congo UK 2012) as well the stunning Eron Mibo, who were both wear spectacular pieces by Jessica Baah. As well as that I met the incredible Mr Awilo, such an entertainer, not only on stage but in person as well, great pleasure.

Unfortunately, Miss Congo did not come away with an award this year, but there is always next year

Miss Ghana UK Finals 

Hello Guys,

So Miss Leonne and myself got the privilege to attend the Miss Ghana finals the other night. I must say, I fell head over heels, absolutely in love with Ghana that night. Words cannot explain how much I learnt; it wasn't just a beauty pageant, it was educational, entertaining, emotional; it was everything, I loved it. We got to  share our VIP table with the beautiful Miss Ghana France, such a lovely and incredibly funny young lady

There were 20 or so girls in the running for the position, and every single one was absolutely stunning, I have no idea how the judges were able to choose, because personally I would not be able to pick.
But a winner was chosen, the breath taking intelligent Miss Janet Djan. When she was crowned, I felt all warm inside, having won Miss Congo, I know the feeling of being crowned 'Miss' of the country you absolutely love and adore. Well done to her, and all the best during her reign. Another massive congats to the runners up, they also did exceptionally well.

I would also like to take this opportunity, to thank the organisers for inviting and taking such good care of Miss Leonne and myself. Thank you so so so so much, and hope to see you next year.
